Dear Brothers and Sisters,
With you, my heart is saddened that the Covid-19 is spreading more, taking lives and livelihood away from so many people.
When the Pastoral Team first met (months ago) to discuss and decide what we would do in regards to in-person worship, we all agreed that unless the government were to tell us we could not do what God’s Word tells us to do, we would follow their guidance. When the restrictions were enacted, we followed them. But when the churches were allowed to reopen we were so glad and the PT along with the EB were eager to find ways to safely reopen so that we could gather together in fellowship to worship our Lord Jesus.
So much hard work has been poured into the Live-streams by many people (Thank you to all who have done this); and also even more people joined to help us plan the beta-reopening. The past two weeks have lifted my spirit when I see brothers and sisters in the sanctuary. I am also thankful for the fruit of all your efforts which include a good number of people through the live-stream. Though we keep facing ups and downs and uncertainties, I am confident that nothing has been wasted; every step of faith, even the size of mustard seed is still being watered by your faithful loving service.
Though the renewed lock down of churches is disappointing, it does not restrict us from worshiping our Lord Jesus. Again, I am disappointed that this is the current law of our state, but I know that God is much much greater and that Christ in us is prevailing. As hard as it is for us, we can only imagine how much more challenging it is for the underground church around the world, where they worship God at the risk of their own lives. Yet, they are our great example of undying faith even in the face of suffering and death. God and they encourage us all to keep up the good work, and not be too weary:
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Gal 6:9
This Sunday, though we will return to the virtual only format for worship, let us pray for a renewed Spirit in our live-stream, may we pray that the Living Stream of the Holy Spirit will flow and overflow through our lives and through us:
“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” By this he meant the Spirit, – John 7:37-39 NIV
Praise God for His faithfulness.
